Heat is hard on a refrigerator
Houston summers keep a fridge running for long stretches. Dust, pet hair and pollen settle on the condenser coils under or behind it. Those coils push heat out of the box. When they are dirty, the compressor works harder and wears out sooner. A fridge kept in a hot garage or carport has an even harder job. Defrost parts can also fail and let frost choke the freezer fan.
Finding why the cold is gone
Our tech starts by reading real temperatures on both sides with a probe. Then we check the fans, the coils and the defrost heater. The defrost heater melts frost off the freezer coil each day. We also test the start relay, which helps the compressor kick on. Fans, relays and defrost parts are worth fixing on most fridges. A leak in the sealed cooling system of an old unit may mean replacing it. You hear the full price before we start.
From a racetrack to quiet streets
Epsom Downs, one of the subdivisions in Eastex-Jensen, once had a horse racetrack in the 1930s. Today the area is a mix of homes and parks. The city lists seven parks here, including Dodson Lake Park and Warren Park. Families in these streets count on one fridge for the whole household. When it quits, the clock starts on everything inside. We try to reach Eastex-Jensen homes on the same day you call.
When a fridge fails in Eastex-Jensen, the loss shows up fast. Milk turns, meat has to be thrown out, and the freezer thaws. Some families buy bags of ice just to get by. That cost grows each day. We come out quickly, fix the cooling fault and check both sections before we go.
We repair French door, side-by-side, bottom freezer and built-in refrigerators. That covers Whirlpool, Maytag, GE, LG and Samsung, plus high-end brands such as Sub-Zero, Viking, Thermador and Miele.
