We Service All Turbo Air Appliances

Turbo Air coolers and freezers we fix

We fix Turbo Air reach-in refrigerators and freezers from the M3, PRO, Super Deluxe and J series. We also repair Turbo Air pizza and sandwich prep tables, undercounters, worktops, chef bases, glass door merchandisers and display cases, including sushi and bakery cases.

Turbo Air is based in Long Beach, California. Its units run on natural refrigerant. The PRO Series is made in the USA. The brand sells a wide range of sizes, so we see it in food trucks and in big hotel kitchens alike.

The self-cleaning condenser and what it means for repairs

Many Turbo Air units have a self-cleaning condenser. A small brush sweeps dust off the condenser coil, the part that sheds heat. On M3 models, a fine mesh filter catches dust and the brush moves up and down once a day. It is a smart idea, since a dirty coil is the top cause of warm coolers.

It still needs a look now and then. If the brush motor stops, dust builds up like on any other cooler. Grease from a nearby fryer can also coat the coil faster than a brush can clear. When a Turbo Air box warms up, we check the brush and coil first.

Other Turbo Air symptoms we see

  • Door alarm keeps going off. The door is not closing, or the door switch has failed. A sagging hinge is a common cause.
  • Display shows a fault. M3 units run self-checks. We read the display, then test the part it points to.
  • Frost on the evaporator. Defrost has failed, or the drain has frozen.
  • Warm prep rail. Airflow to the pans is blocked, or lids are staying open too long.
  • Compressor clicks on and off. A bad start relay or a failing compressor.

Display cases and merchandisers

Glass cases have a harder job than a solid door reach-in. Customers open them all day, and the glass lets in heat and light. Fogged glass usually means a failed heater in the door or frame. A sushi case that runs warm often has a blocked coil under the fish trays. Bakery cases struggle when they sit in direct sun near a front window. Moving the case a few feet can help as much as a new part.

How your Turbo Air service goes

Same-day visits happen for most calls, and it pays to phone before the lunch push. The tech checks the unit, reads any fault on the display and gives you a fixed price. Work starts only after you say yes.

For businesses we charge $149 to diagnose. You do not pay it when you approve the repair. We install genuine OEM parts and stand behind them with our repair warranty. If a part needs ordering, the return appointment is made before we leave your door. Expect a licensed, insured tech who has passed a background check.

Is a Turbo Air reach-in worth repairing?

For most problems, yes. Fans, controls, gaskets, hinges and brush motors cost little next to a new unit. They are quick to replace.

Before any big repair, dig out your purchase papers. A newer unit may still be under the maker's own coverage. We can help you find the model and serial number plate inside the cabinet.

A sealed system failure on an older, smaller unit calls for a closer look. We show you what the repair costs so you can weigh it. We also tell you if the cabinet is in good shape, since that makes a repair a safer bet.
