We Service All Vulcan Appliances

Vulcan equipment we service

We service Vulcan Endurance restaurant ranges and heavy-duty ranges, VC series convection ovens and PowerFry and QuickFry fryers. We also repair Vulcan steamers, kettles, braising pans, griddles, charbroilers, holding cabinets and Core Series gear. Burners, pilots, controls, fan motors and fryer filter systems are routine work for us.

Vulcan dates back to 1865. It is based in Baltimore and is a division of ITW Food Equipment Group, alongside brands like Hobart and Traulsen.

Vulcan fryer problems

Fryers cause more Vulcan calls than anything else. They run hot all day and fight oil, crumbs and water.

  • Fryer will not light. We check the igniter or pilot, the gas valve and the high limit, a safety switch that cuts gas if oil overheats.
  • Slow recovery. Fries look pale since the oil drops in temp with each basket. A weak burner or bad temperature probe is common.
  • Filter pump runs but does not move oil. Many Vulcan fryers have built-in filtration like KleenScreen PLUS. A clogged line or worn pump motor stops the oil flow.
  • Oil too hot. A failed control. This one needs fast attention for safety.

Built-in filtration saves a lot of oil when it works. When it fails, crews often go back to dumping and refilling by hand. That costs money every week. A pump or valve fix pays for itself fast.

Ranges, ovens and steam gear

On Endurance ranges, a burner that will not light usually has a dirty pilot or clogged ports. The oven below may have a worn thermocouple or safety valve. If the oven runs hot, the thermostat has drifted.

Griddles get their own share of calls. A Vulcan griddle with a cold strip down the middle usually has a burner that is clogged or a control that is failing. Warped plates are rare, but they happen when a griddle is left on high with nothing on it for hours.

VC convection ovens lean on the fan. A weak fan motor bakes one side of the pan darker. A door switch that fails can shut the fan off without warning. Steamers and kettles have their own weak spot, which is hard water. Scale fouls level probes and slows heating. A kettle that takes twice as long to boil is a sign worth a call.

The visit, start to finish

We get a tech out the same day for most calls. The sooner you call, the better your odds of a quick fix. The tech tests the unit, finds the fault and quotes one price. No work starts until you approve it.

Commercial kitchens are charged $149 to diagnose. That fee is waived when you go ahead with the fix. Your Vulcan gets genuine OEM parts plus our repair warranty. If we need to order a part, the next visit is booked right then. Our techs are licensed and insured, and every one is background checked before hire.

Is it worth repairing a Vulcan fryer or range?

Ranges, nearly always. They are heavy and simple, and the parts that wear are made to be replaced. An Endurance range with a solid frame can go through many sets of valves and pilots.

Fryers are a closer call. A frypot, the tank that holds the oil, can crack after years of heat. Once it leaks, a new fryer is often the smart buy. Controls, burners and pumps, though, are well worth fixing. We give you a straight answer on site.
