Professional Repairs For KitchenAid Appliances
KitchenAid Appliances We Fix
We repair KitchenAid dishwashers, French door and side-by-side refrigerators, built-in fridges, gas and electric ranges, wall ovens, cooktops and warming drawers. That includes FreeFlex third rack dishwashers and PrintShield finish models.
KitchenAid started in 1919 as a stand mixer brand under the Hobart Manufacturing Company. It added dishwashers in 1949 with the KD-10. Whirlpool bought KitchenAid in 1986 and still owns it. That means many KitchenAid parts are shared with Whirlpool and other Whirlpool brands.
KitchenAid Dishwasher Trouble
The dishwasher is KitchenAid's oldest major appliance, and we see a lot of them. The FreeFlex third rack models add a top rack with its own wash jets, so there is one more place for clogs.
- Won't drain: The filter under the lower rack clogs first. A spotless filter shifts the blame to a jammed drain pump.
- Dirty dishes: Blocked jets in the spray arms or the third rack. A weak wash motor also cuts cleaning power.
- Wet dishes: Many models have a fan-enabled ProDry system. A failed fan or heater leaves dishes wet.
- Leaks: A worn door gasket or a cracked hose. Also check for the wrong detergent. Too many suds can push water out the door.

KitchenAid Refrigerator Problems
A KitchenAid fridge that is warm with a cold freezer usually has frost on the evaporator coil. That coil sits behind the freezer panel. A failed defrost heater, sensor or control lets the frost build. A stopped evaporator fan does the same thing.
Ice makers that quit are also common. We test the inlet valve, which feeds water to the ice maker, and then the ice maker. A French door KitchenAid that leaks inside may have a frozen defrost drain. Built-in units that run hot often need their condenser coil cleaned. Learn more about KitchenAid refrigerator repair.
KitchenAid Ovens, Ranges and Warming Drawers
A KitchenAid gas range that clicks but won't light has a weak igniter or a wet spark switch. A gas oven that heats slowly often has a worn oven igniter. It glows but can't open the gas valve.
Electric wall ovens lose heat when the bake or broil element burns out. Convection models can bake unevenly if the convection fan fails. A warming drawer that won't warm up usually has a bad element or thermostat. See our KitchenAid oven repair page for more.
Your KitchenAid Repair Visit
Think of a KitchenAid dishwasher that quits the night before a dinner party. Call us first thing, and there's a good chance a tech comes that day. Same-day works out on most calls.
Our techs hold licenses and insurance, and every one passed a background check. The in-home diagnostic runs $79. Once the fault is found, you get a fixed price in writing. Go ahead, and the $79 is waived. Pass, and you only owe the visit.
We use genuine OEM KitchenAid parts. Many are on the truck because they overlap with other Whirlpool brands. If yours isn't, the tech sets the second visit with you before leaving. Our 30-day repair warranty covers the work.
Before you call, try these quick checks.
- Dishwasher not draining? Pull the round filter from the tub floor and rinse it under the tap.
- Fridge warm? Clear the space in front of the vents inside, and check that the doors close all the way.
- Oven won't start? Make sure the control lock is off and the clock is set.
- Gas burner won't light? Let the cap dry fully after a spill, then try again.
If those don't fix it, the fault is inside the machine, and that is our job.
Is a KitchenAid Worth Fixing?
In most cases, yes. KitchenAid sits above the base brands, so a new one costs more. Its parts are also widely stocked because of the Whirlpool family. A dishwasher pump, a fridge fan or an oven igniter is usually a good repair.
The answer can flip on an older fridge with a compressor or sealed system failure. The same is true for a dishwasher needing both a control board and a pump. In those cases, you get our quote plus a plain opinion. The call is yours.
