We Service All Randell Appliances

Randell refrigeration we repair

We repair Randell raised rail pizza prep tables, flat top sandwich and salad tables, and specialty prep stations. We also fix Randell FX series drawers, chef bases, worktops and blast chillers. On the hot side we service Randell hot food tables, drop-ins and serving lines.

Randell is part of Unified Brands. Its prep tables are used by four of the top five pizza chains in the country. So a lot of our Randell calls come from busy franchise lines.

Warm rails and other Randell prep table problems

The rail is the row of pans on top. It is the hardest part of a prep table to keep cold, and it is where health inspectors check first.

  • Rail warm, cabinet cold. Cold air is not reaching the pans. We check the fan that blows air up to the rail and look for blocked air ducts.
  • Everything warm. A dirty condenser coil is the usual cause, especially on a table next to the fryers. A weak compressor or a bad start relay is next.
  • Frozen coil. Defrost has failed, or the drain is clogged and water has frozen around the coil.
  • Lid left open all day. It sounds small. On a hot line it can push the rail above safe temps in an hour.

FX drawers and chef bases

The FX series lets you set a drawer to refrigerate or freeze. That makes it handy for fish, meat or frozen smoothie mix. When a drawer will not reach its setting, we check the control and its sensor first. Then we look at the fan and coil for that drawer.

Chef bases sit right under the grill or broiler. They fight heat all day long. We often find grease packed in the condenser, bent drawer slides and torn drawer gaskets. A drawer that does not close flush leaks cold air every time it moves.

Blast chillers and hot food tables

A blast chiller has one job. It brings cooked food down to safe temps fast. When a cycle takes too long, the food sits in the danger zone. We check the fans, the coil and the food probe. A bent or broken probe can make the chiller think the food is still hot.

Randell hot food tables and drop-in wells fail in simpler ways. A dead well usually has a burned element or a bad thermostat. A well that boils dry points to a water supply or level problem.

How we run a Randell service visit

Try to reach us before lunch starts. We send someone the same day for most calls. The tech checks temps, airflow and the system, then explains the cause in plain words. You get a fixed number before anything is done.

The diagnostic for commercial kitchens is $149. Approving the repair cancels that charge. Parts are genuine OEM, with our repair warranty on top. If we need to order a part, we lock in the return date before we leave. Randell calls go to techs who are licensed, insured and screened.

Is a Randell prep table worth fixing?

For most failures, yes. Randell tables are built for heavy use. Fans, gaskets, controls and drawer slides are affordable and quick to swap.

A compressor failure on an old table is where we slow down and talk. If the cabinet is rusting and the lids are cracked, a new table might be the better spend. We show you the numbers and let you pick.
