We fix Fulgor Milano ranges from the Sofia and Accento lines, including dual fuel, all gas and induction models. We also repair Distinto built-ins like wall ovens and combi speed ovens, plus Fulgor gas cooktops, refrigerators, dishwashers and microwaves.

Fulgor started in 1949 in Gallarate, north of Milan. It is now owned by Meneghetti, a family-held Italian company. For years Fulgor built cooking products for other big brands before it sold under its own name. It was a pioneer of gas on glass cooktops. The Sofia pro range line came out in 2015 for the North American market, in 30, 36 and 48 inch sizes.

Sofia and Accento range problems

Most of our Fulgor calls are for the range. On a Sofia or Accento Fulgor range, here is what we find.

A burner that sparks but won't catch most often has an igniter that is dirty or cracked. If the flame dies as soon as you let the knob go, the flame safety sensor is weak. Constant clicking with the knob off means moisture got into a spark switch. Here is a common one. Pasta boils over, and that night a burner clicks with every knob off. Lift the cap and grate and let the top air dry. Most of the time the clicking stops by morning. If it keeps going, the switch or spark module needs replacing.

In the oven, slow preheat and uneven baking are the big complaints. On dual fuel models, the convection fan motor, the bake element and the oven sensor are our first checks. On all gas ovens, we test the igniter. It can glow and still be too weak to open the gas valve. An oven that won't come on at all may have tripped its high limit switch, a safety that cuts power when the oven overheats.

Fulgor cooktops, speed ovens and refrigerators

A Fulgor cooktop gets the same spark and flame issues as the rangetop. On gas on glass models, a crack in the glass means a new top, and we check for gas leaks before we leave.

Combi speed ovens mix microwave and convection heat in one box. That makes them more complex than a plain wall oven. On the microwave side, a dead magnetron (the part that makes microwave energy) or a failed door switch is typical. A fan fault shows up as uneven browning.

When a Fulgor refrigerator runs warm, look first at the evaporator fan, then the defrost system and the condenser coil. On the dishwasher, standing water usually means a clogged filter or a stuck drain pump. Wet dishes at the end of a cycle point to the heating element or an empty rinse aid dispenser.

The price is fixed and quoted before we start. We install genuine OEM Fulgor parts. Some parts come from Italy and take time. When that happens, we book your return visit before we pack up. Fulgor calls go to licensed, insured techs who have cleared background checks. The work carries our repair warranty.

Repair or replace a Fulgor Milano range?

Fulgor is less common in the US than the big brands. That makes parts the main question. On a newer Sofia or Accento, repair is almost always worth it. On an older model, we check part supply first and tell you the wait before you commit. A range this heavy and well built deserves that check before it goes to the curb.
