The Fulgor Milano cooktop lines
Fulgor Milano sorts its cooktops by series number. The 400 series gas cooktops come in 24, 30 and 36 inch widths. The 36 inch model has five burners. One of them is a Dual Flame burner with two rings of fire. Fulgor rates it at 18,000 BTU. These tops have electric re-ignition and flame-out sensing.
Induction cooktops come in the 400 and 700 series. The 700 series adds a brushed aluminum trim. The 600 series is radiant electric. That means a glowing element under the glass, not induction. Fulgor was also an early maker of gas on glass tops, where the burners sit on a glass sheet.
We repair each type. A+ is an independent repair company and we service the whole Fulgor Milano line.
Flame goes out when you release the knob
This fault is tied to the safety system. Each burner has a small sensor in the flame. While it feels heat, it holds the gas valve open. If the flame blows out, the sensor cools and the gas stops. That is what flame-out sensing means.
When the sensor wears out, it cannot hold the valve. You light the burner, let go, and it dies. Dirt on the sensor tip does the same thing. We clean it first. If the burner still drops out, we replace the sensor. Less often the valve itself is weak.
Sparks but no flame, or sparks that never stop
An igniter that clicks with no flame is often dirty or cracked. A cap set off center will also block the gas. Put the cap back and try again. Constant clicking with every knob off is a moisture problem. A boil-over has reached a spark switch. Lift the grates and caps and let the top dry overnight. If the clicking is still there in the morning, the switch or the spark module is done.
Gas on glass needs extra care
On these models the glass is part of the gas seal. A crack in the glass is not a small flaw. The top has to be replaced. We also leak test every joint before we leave. Do not light a cracked cooktop.
Induction and radiant zones
An induction zone needs an iron or steel pan. If a magnet will not stick, the zone will not start. If the pan is right and the zone stays cold, the coil and its power board are next. A zone that cuts out after a few minutes may be overheating. The cooling fan under the glass can clog with dust.
A radiant zone is simpler. The element either glows or it does not. If it stays dark, the element or its switch has failed. If it stays on high at every setting, the control has stuck.
Quick checks at home
- Set every burner cap flat on its base.
- Dry the area around the igniters with a cloth.
- Make sure the cooktop is plugged in. The spark needs power.
- Try a second pan on an induction zone.
Our visit and our price
The tech runs each Fulgor burner and zone while you watch. A fixed quote follows, labor and parts in one number. For a home, the Fulgor diagnostic is $79. Approve the job and it is waived. Cooktop calls mostly get same-day service. Someone answers 6 AM to 9 PM on every day of the year. The booking form online never closes. Fulgor cooktop jobs go to a licensed, insured, background checked cooktop tech. A 30-day repair warranty covers the cooktop work.
Fulgor is an Italian brand and less common here. Some parts ship from Italy and take longer. We check supply before you commit. Sensors, igniters and switches are usually easy to get. A glass top or an induction board may take a wait. Since the counter is cut to fit, repair is still the better path for most owners.
We fix Fulgor cooktops in Houston and nearby. See our Texas service page. Fulgor owners in Los Angeles and Chicago can call too. So can homes in D.C. and Northern Virginia. Other makes sit on the stove repair page. If your burners sit above an oven, read Fulgor Milano range repair. One habit helps a lot. After cleaning, check that every ring and cap on the Dual Flame burner is seated.
