Common Dacor Faults by Appliance

Ranges and rangetops. Clicking with no flame on a Dacor burner points to a grimy or cracked igniter. A failing spark module is the other common culprit. A burner that clicks nonstop often has a wet or worn spark switch. On a dual fuel range, the gas top can work while the electric oven fails. Wall ovens. Dacor steam ovens add a water system to the usual heat parts. Scale can clog the steam path. A convection fan that stops will leave food cooking unevenly. The combination oven's top cavity can microwave, convection bake and even air fry. So it holds a magnetron plus heating parts, and we test each one. Newer Dacor wall ovens also link to a phone through SmartThings. If the app loses the oven, that is usually a Wi-Fi issue. We first confirm the oven runs from its own panel before we look deeper.

Refrigeration. Dacor built-in fridges run into the same trouble as other built-ins. A dirty condenser coil makes the unit run hot and long. A failed evaporator fan leaves one section warm. Cooktops and rangetops. Dacor gas rangetops sit flush in the counter with no oven below. That makes the burners, igniters and gas valves the whole story. A low flame on one burner often means a clogged burner port or orifice, the tiny brass opening that meters the gas. Should You Fix an Older Dacor?

A Dacor range or wall oven costs a lot to replace. Built-in units also have to fit your cabinet cutouts. So repair usually wins, as long as parts are available. Igniters, elements, fans and sensors are common fixes.

Some older Dacor models have parts that are harder to find now. If a key board has gone out of production, you hear that up front, before you pay for anything beyond the visit.
