We repair every major Frigidaire appliance. On the cold side, that means top-freezer, side-by-side and French door fridges, plus upright and chest freezers. Frigidaire has a long story. It began in 1918 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, as the Guardian Frigerator Company. It took the Frigidaire name in 1919. General Motors owned it until 1979. Frigidaire Refrigerator and Freezer Trouble

Here is a call we get all the time. The freezer is fine, but milk in the fridge is getting warm. On a Frigidaire, that usually means the evaporator fan has stopped or the coil behind the freezer panel has iced over. A failed defrost heater or defrost thermostat lets that ice build. Clear the ice without fixing the cause and it comes back in a week or two.

Ice makers that stop are the next most common problem. We check the water valve, the fill tube and the ice maker itself. A French door model can also leak water if the defrost drain freezes. We see that in older units most.

Upright and chest freezers bring their own issues. Some freezers run nonstop but never get cold. Look at the condenser coil first. Frigidaire Range and Oven Repairs

• Electric oven heats slowly: A bake element that has burned through, or a failed temperature sensor.
• Gas oven won't light: A weak igniter. You may smell a little gas with no flame.
• Surface burner stuck on high: A worn infinite switch, the dial switch that controls burner heat.
• Error on the display: Often the control board or a sensor. We test before we replace.

Frigidaire Washer, Dryer and Dishwasher Issues

Front-load Frigidaire washers often stop mid-cycle because the door lock fails. Others won't drain because a coin or hair tie got into the drain pump. On dryers, a broken drum belt means the motor hums but the drum won't turn. No heat usually comes from a thermal fuse or heating element.

Wine coolers and beverage centers have their own quirks. A Frigidaire wine cooler that runs warm may have a failed fan or a bad temperature sensor. See our Frigidaire wine cooler repair page.

Frigidaire dishwashers tend to leave water in the bottom when the drain pump or the filter fails. Poor cleaning often means a clogged spray arm or a weak wash motor.

A word on model lines. Frigidaire sells two named lines on top of its standard models: Gallery and Professional. Frigidaire Professional adds a commercial look, heavy-duty grates and a Smudge-Proof stainless finish.

Under the finish, a Professional range still relies on igniters, elements and switches. Give us the model number and we can usually tell you on the phone what parts it takes.

Same-day service is the goal on most Frigidaire calls. The earlier you call, the better your odds.

Every tech we send is licensed and insured, and each one has cleared a background check. The visit fee is $79 for your home. We waive it when you go ahead with the repair. The fixed price comes first, so you know the cost before the first screw comes out.

We use genuine OEM parts made for Frigidaire. If yours needs a part we have to order, we set the return date while the tech is still there. Our repair warranty stands behind every job.

Repair or Replace a Frigidaire?

Frigidaire sits in the value range of the market. That cuts both ways. Parts are cheap and plentiful, so a fan, element, igniter or pump is almost always worth fixing. A new unit, though, doesn't cost as much as a premium brand.

So we look at the size of the job. A dryer belt on a seven-year-old Frigidaire is an easy yes. A compressor on a fridge past its prime is often a no. We will tell you which side of that line you are on.
