Bosch Appliances We Service

We repair Bosch dishwashers, wall ovens, ranges, cooktops, range hoods, warming drawers, microwaves, refrigerators, washers and dryers. Bosch dishwashers come in five tiers: 100 Series, 300 Series, 500 Series, 800 Series and Benchmark. We work on all of them.

Bosch appliances come from BSH, a German company. Robert Bosch GmbH has owned all of BSH since 2015. Most Bosch dishwashers sold in the US are built at the BSH plant in New Bern, North Carolina. That helps with parts, since many common ones are stocked here.

Bosch Dishwasher Problems and Fixes

The dishwasher is the Bosch we see most. Here is what goes wrong.

E15 on the display. Bosch says E15 means water has reached the base of the dishwasher and the leak protection has tripped. A float in the base pan rises and shuts things down. The cause can be a loose hose, a worn door gasket, a leaking pump seal or too many suds. Turn off the water and stop running it. Draining the base alone won't fix the leak.

Water left in the bottom. Bosch filters sit under the lower spray arm. A clogged filter is the first thing to check. Filter looks fine? Then suspect the drain pump. A shard of glass may have jammed it, or it may simply be worn out.

Dishes come out wet. Bosch uses different drying systems by tier. PureDry is on every model. The 500 Series adds AutoAir, which pops the door open at the end. Higher tiers use CrystalDry. Wet plastics are normal on some models. Wet glass on a CrystalDry unit is not, and we look at the heating side.

Won't start or lights blink. A bad door latch or a failed control board. We test the latch first because it is cheaper.

Our dishwasher repair page has more on these systems.

Bosch Cooking and Cold Storage Issues

  • Wall oven won't heat evenly: The convection fan or its element has failed.
  • Oven door locked after cleaning: A stuck door lock motor or switch.
  • Gas cooktop burner won't light: A dirty or cracked igniter, or a wet spark switch.
  • Induction zone dead: Usually a power board or a failed coil.
  • Fridge warm, freezer okay: Frost on the evaporator coil from a defrost fault, or a stopped fan.

See our Bosch oven repair and Bosch refrigerator repair pages for more.

A Bosch hood that hums but won't pull smoke usually has a greasy filter or a failing blower motor. Lights that flicker often trace to the control switch. A warming drawer that stays cool has a bad element or thermostat in most cases. These are small repairs that people put off for years. They don't have to wait. Our Bosch range hood repair page has more.

Bosch Washers and Dryers

Bosch compact washers are front-loaders. The usual failures are a clogged drain pump, a failed door lock and worn drum bearings. A washer that thumps loud on spin may have a bad shock absorber. Bosch dryers include vented and condensation models. A condensation dryer that takes forever often has a clogged condenser. Visit our Bosch washer repair page.

When Our Tech Arrives

Picture an E15 on a Tuesday morning. You shut the water valve under the sink and call us before nine. A tech is at your door that afternoon. That is typical, since same-day works for most calls.

He is licensed and insured, and he passed a background check before he ever joined us. He pulls the kick plate, finds a loose clamp on the drain hose, and dries the base pan. Then he quotes a fixed price. You say yes, so the $79 diagnostic is waived. The dishwasher runs a test cycle with no leak.

Not every job is that quick. A cracked pump housing may need a part shipped. In that case, we pick the return date together before he drives off. Every Bosch repair gets genuine OEM parts and is backed by our repair warranty.

Is a Bosch Dishwasher Worth Fixing?

Usually, yes. Bosch dishwashers have a stainless tub and a simple layout. Pumps, latches, gaskets and hoses are easy to replace. An E15 from a loose hose may be a short, cheap fix.

We may suggest replacing when an older 100 Series needs a control board and a pump at once. At that point, a new unit may be close in price. For a Bosch wall oven or fridge, repair almost always makes more sense. Those cost far more to replace.
