Hybrid Fire Grill problems and causes

The Hybrid Fire Grill is Kalamazoo's best known piece. It cooks with gas, charcoal, wood or a mix. Fuel drawers sit above the gas burners and below the grates. Leave them empty and it is a gas grill. Fill them with charcoal or wood, and the gas burners light the fuel.

That design is great for flavor. It also means ash and grease end up in places a plain gas grill never sees. Here is what we find.

• Weak or yellow flame. Ash or grease has blocked the burner ports. Spiders in the venturi tubes do the same.
• Burner won't light. The igniter electrode is cracked, fouled with ash or out of place. On some grills, the ignition module is at fault.
• Low heat on all burners. A stuck regulator or low gas pressure at the supply line.
• Knob is stiff or won't turn. A gas valve that has seized from heat and weather.

Pizza oven and outdoor fridge repairs

The Artisan Fire Pizza Oven is gas-fired. Kalamazoo says it heats up in about 20 minutes. If yours takes far longer, we check the burner, igniter, flame sensor and gas valve. Kalamazoo outdoor fridges are built to hold their set temperature in heat up to 110°F. When one starts running warm, the cause is usually simple.
