We Service All Hobart Appliances

Hobart machines we fix

We repair Hobart dishwashers, mixers, slicers and food processors. That includes AM door-type machines, LX undercounters, CL conveyor machines and PW pot washers. On the prep side we fix Legacy mixers and HS Series slicers. Centerline by Hobart models are on the list too. We service older units still in daily use.

Hobart dates back to 1897 in Troy, Ohio. The company still makes its dishwashers, slicers and cooking gear there. It is part of ITW Food Equipment Group today. One bit of trivia: Hobart started KitchenAid in 1919 and sold it to Whirlpool in 1986.

What goes wrong on Hobart dish machines

A dish machine that won't reach temperature is our top Hobart call. High-temp machines need very hot final rinse water to sanitize. When plates come out warm, look at the booster heater, the tank that heats rinse water. Its heating element can burn out or get coated in scale. Scale is the chalky mineral left by hard water.

  • Won't fill or overfills. The fill valve may be stuck, or the float switch that senses water level may be jammed with food.
  • Poor wash results. Wash arms clogged with debris, a worn wash pump seal or a missing strainer are common.
  • Won't drain. A clogged drain or a failed drain valve leaves dirty water in the tank.
  • Door machine won't start. The door switch tells the machine the hood is down. When it fails, nothing runs.
  • Conveyor stalls. On CL machines, a jammed conveyor or a tripped drive motor stops the rack.

Health inspectors check rinse temps. A Hobart that can't hit its numbers is more than a nuisance. It can put a mark on your report.

Hobart mixer and slicer problems

A Legacy mixer that hums but won't turn often has a drive or switch issue. A mixer that slips under load may need attention in the gearbox. Bowl lifts that stick are also common. Never keep running a mixer that smells hot. That's how a small repair turns into a big one.

On a Hobart slicer, the usual calls are a dull or nicked knife, a sharpener that doesn't bite, and a carriage that drags. A slicer that won't start may have a bad switch or interlock. Interlocks are safety switches that stop the blade when a guard is off.

How a Hobart repair visit goes

Dish machines don't wait, so we aim for same-day on most Hobart calls. Ring us early for the best odds.

Our tech checks the machine and explains the fault. The commercial diagnostic is $149. If you approve the Hobart repair, it's waived. You get a set price before any work begins, with no add-ons later.

Genuine OEM parts only. If one has to be ordered, the next visit gets booked before the tech goes. Hobart jobs are handled by licensed, insured techs who have each cleared a background check. Our repair warranty sits behind every fix.

Is an old Hobart worth fixing?

Very often. Hobart machines are built to be rebuilt. Heating elements, pumps, valves, switches and seals can all be swapped. A Hobart mixer with a sound gearbox can stay in a bakery for a long time.

Replacement comes up when the wash tank is corroded through, or when a mixer gearbox is badly worn. It also comes up when a machine no longer fits your volume. You'll get our repair quote and a straight answer. The choice stays yours.
