This is the classic Frigidaire fridge call. The freezer is fine and the fresh food side is not. On most models, all the cold is made in the freezer. A fan then blows some of it up into the fridge. So a warm fresh food side over a cold freezer is an airflow fault, not a cooling one.
The evaporator fan may have stopped. Or the coil behind the freezer's back panel is packed with ice, and air cannot get through. That ice builds when the defrost heater or defrost thermostat fails. You can melt it with the doors open for a day, and the fridge will work again. It will ice up in a week or two unless the bad part is changed.
Frigidaire's support pages explain both. HI, or a blinking H, means the fridge or freezer has been too warm for more than one hour. It can show after a big grocery load or a door left open. If it stays, something is wrong. PF means the power failed for a while. Press a key to clear it and check the food.
Frigidaire suggests a reset by pulling the plug for a few minutes. That is fair to try once. If the alarm returns, book a visit.
Frigidaire builds fridges in three main layouts: French door, top freezer and side by side. Gallery adds counter-depth French door models and a four door model with a drawer you can set to fridge or freezer temps. Gallery French door units use the TwinTech cooling system, CrispSeal crisper drawers, a PurePour water filter and a PureAir air filter.
We start at the back. The water inlet valve opens to fill the ice mold. If it is weak, cubes come out small or hollow. Ice can plug the fill tube. The Frigidaire ice maker module may also quit cycling. At the door, a dispenser that hums but gives no water often has a frozen line in the door or a clogged filter. Change the PurePour filter on schedule and see if flow returns before you call.
Melted frost should flow through a drain tube into a pan below the Frigidaire. If that drain freezes or clogs, water backs up. On a French door model it pools under the crisper drawers or freezes into a sheet on the freezer floor. We clear the drain and fit a fix so it does not refreeze. Water behind the fridge is a different leak. We look at the supply line and the inlet valve for that one.
Chirping or squealing inside a Frigidaire freezer is an evaporator fan motor going bad. A buzz from the back, low down, is the condenser fan or a dirty coil. Clicks a few minutes apart, with silence after each, mean the Frigidaire compressor cannot start. The start relay is a small part that clips onto the compressor, and it is a common fix.
