ZLINE range series at a glance
ZLINE names its ranges by series. Legacy comes in the most sizes, from 24 up to 60 inches. Classic comes in dual fuel and gas. Paramount adds induction and a wider oven window. Marino is the newest look, with backlit controls. Any of them may carry Autograph Edition trim in gold, bronze or black.
Under the styling, the cooktops share a design. The burners are sealed and made in Italy. The top is one piece of porcelain. Some models have brass burners. ZLINE also lists a dual function burner that runs from a low simmer to high heat. More about the brand is on our ZLINE appliance repair page.
Burner clicks but there is no flame
Spark without flame means gas is not reaching the burner, or not mixing right. We start at the burner head. If it was put back wrong after cleaning, the gas misses the spark. Next is the jet under the burner. A drop of sauce can plug its tiny hole.
When several burners fail at once, the supply is suspect. The shutoff may be partly closed, or the regulator may have failed. Ranges run on propane need the right jets. Every ZLINE gas range comes with a propane kit. We see problems when the kit was only half installed.
Clicking that will not stop
ZLINE burners relight by themselves if the flame goes out. The same circuit causes the most common complaint: nonstop clicking. A little water in one spark switch sets off all the electrodes. It often starts after a pot boils over or the knobs get sprayed with cleaner.
Turn the burners off and let the range sit for a few hours. A fan helps. If it still clicks once dry, a switch has shorted, or the spark module is failing. We find which one and replace it. The knobs pull straight off, which makes this a fairly quick repair.
Uneven flame, stiff knobs and induction faults
A flame that is high on one side means the cap is off center. A flame that lifts away from the burner means too much gas pressure. Flames with orange tips often mean dust or a dirty burner. Those are easy fixes.
A stiff ZLINE knob means a dry or gummed gas valve. Do not force it. Valves can be replaced one at a time. On ZLINE induction ranges there is no gas to worry about. Faults there are a cracked glass top, a dead zone or a power board that trips the breaker.
Quick things to look at
- Match each cap to its burner size and seat it flat.
- Poke the burner ports clear with a wooden toothpick, never metal.
- Confirm the range is plugged in. The spark needs power even on a gas model.
- Check that the gas valve handle behind the range lines up with the pipe.
Gas smell with all knobs off is a reason to leave and call the gas company. Do not flip switches on your way out.

The tech runs each burner, reads the spark and checks gas pressure if needed. Then a fixed range price follows, labor and parts as one number. Our diagnostic for a home is $79. Approve the job and the $79 is waived. Most days have a same-day range slot. Range bookings by phone begin at 6 AM, with the last one at 9 PM, all seven days, and online booking is there too.
A+ is independent of ZLINE and family owned. Each range tech is insured and licensed, and a background check clears them first. Trucks are stocked with common igniters and switches, and repairs come with a 30-day repair warranty.
Whether a ZLINE range is worth the repair
Top burner parts are low in cost, and the body of the range is sturdy steel. Igniters, switches, valves and burner heads are easy yes answers. ZLINE ranges are priced in the middle, so we do the math on bigger jobs. If an induction top needs new glass and a board, we compare that with a new range.
We repair ZLINE ranges in Houston, Los Angeles, greater Chicago, Northern Virginia and Washington D.C. Start with our Houston appliance repair page. Baking problems are on ZLINE oven repair. A drop-in top is covered by ZLINE cooktop and rangetop repair. See also our general range repair page. On a porcelain ZLINE top, let the burners cool before wiping, since cold water on hot porcelain can craze it.
