Technician was able to repair the refrigerator by replacing the seal and cleaning the motor. He decided that it didn’t need a new fan. Very prompt service.

Amazing service! Emil did such a great job repairing my front loading washer. The door gasket needed to be changed. When I used the washer the next, we still had a leak. He made the extra effort to come back that day and found we also had a leaking hose, which he repaired on the spot. Amazing customer service A+.

A+ Appliance Repair saved Thanksgiving! 🦃 Our refrigerator died TWO DAYS before hosting 20 people. Called in a panic for fridge repair near me and they understood the emergency. Sam came out same-day to our Georgetown Washington DC home, diagnosed a failing compressor, and worked late to fix it. He even helped reorganize our food back in the fridge. These people are lifesavers - professional, fast, and they genuinely care. Worth every penny!

My Kenmore gas wall oven would not heat. When I called, the young lady (Bernadette) that answered was so kind and attentive. Very professional, friendly, and efficient. Found and explained the issue to me, politely asked if I wanted the service for the quoted price and after consent, fixed problem. I was very pleased. Thank you, A+👍🏾

Why wine storage is its own kind of repair

Wine wants three things. It wants a steady temperature, still air and no shaking. A kitchen fridge swings a few degrees all day and nobody cares. A wine cooler that swings the same amount can age a bottle badly.

So we judge a U-Line wine unit by how steady it holds, not just how cold it gets. Our tech logs the zone for a while before touching a part. For the wider product list, see our U-Line repair overview.

U-Line wine models in short

U-Line sells wine fridges in 15, 18 and 24 inch widths. They come in the 5 Class and Home lines, among others. The 3000 Series adds a wide 36 inch dual zone model. Older units carry the Wine Captain name on the door.

Single zone units hold one set point. Dual zone units split the cabinet so reds and whites each get their own. The racks pull out all the way on slides. U-Line says the design cuts vibration to protect the wine.

One zone warm, one zone fine

This is the classic dual zone call. Most dual zone coolers run both zones off one compressor. A fan or a damper sends cold air to each side as needed. Each zone has its own sensor.

  • If one zone reads warm and the other is right, suspect that zone's fan or sensor.
  • If both zones drift up together, look at the condenser, the compressor or its start relay.
  • If the display shows the right number but the bottles feel warm, the sensor is lying to the board.

We check each sensor against a probe we trust. A sensor that is off by four degrees is enough to matter for wine.

Noise, shaking and door leaks

A wine cooler should be quiet. A new rattle often means a fan blade is touching ice or a loose wire. A deep hum that starts and stops every few minutes points to a compressor that can't start. That is often a small relay, which is a low cost part.

Shaking bottles can come from worn compressor mounts. The rubber feet harden with age and pass the motion into the cabinet. New mounts bring the stillness back.

The glass door is heavy. Over time the hinge sags and the top corner of the gasket opens up. Warm, damp air gets in. You see fog on the glass and drops of water on the top rack. We shim or swap the U-Line hinge, then fit a fresh gasket.

Wood rack fronts swell if they stay wet. A rack that sticks is telling you there is a moisture problem, not a slide problem. Fix the door seal first.

What you can do today

Pull the toe grille and vacuum the coil behind it. Check that nothing blocks the grille, like a rug edge. Make sure no bottle neck is pushing the door open. Leave the door shut for a day and watch the display. If the zone still reads high, call us.

Do not move the wine to a garage fridge while you wait. A steady 60 degrees in a closet is kinder to it than a cold blast.

Price and visit details

Our home diagnostic is $79, and we drop it if you go ahead with the repair. The U-Line quote is one fixed figure. It counts parts and labor, and no wine cooler work starts until you hear it. We book visits seven days a week from 6 AM to 9 PM, online or by phone. Same-day service covers most calls.

Your wine cooler tech is licensed, insured and background checked for U-Line jobs. A+ is an independent shop, family owned from 2015 on. We back the wine cooler repair with a warranty. Fans, relays and sensors are often in stock on the truck.

Repair makes sense for nearly any fault short of a sealed system leak. With a leak on an old unit, we will price both paths and let you choose.
