Every SKS wall oven is a 30 inch unit. SKS sells single units, double units and combination units. The line comes in two looks, called Professional and Transitional. Most have Steam-Combi, which adds steam to convection heat. Many have Steam Sous Vide, which cooks sealed food in steam at a low, exact heat. Some have Gourmet AI, which uses a camera to spot the food and suggest a setting. All of them link to the ThinQ app and have a Speed Clean cycle. This page is for built-in wall ovens. Steam is where an SKS wall oven differs from a plain one. The oven pulls water from a tank, heats it and sends steam into the cavity. Hard water scale does the most harm to an SKS steam oven. It coats the steam maker and blocks the small lines. The signs are easy to spot. A steam cycle ends early. The tank is still full after a long cook. Or the oven asks for water when the tank is full. We check the pump, clear the lines and test the steam heater. If your water is hard, run the descale cycle when the oven asks for it.
When plain bake fails, the fault is on the dry heat side. The bake element or the convection element may be burned out. The oven sensor may read wrong. A blown thermal fuse will leave the oven with lights and no heat. On a double oven, note if one cavity or both are cold. One cold cavity is a part in that oven. Two cold cavities point at the power supply or the main board. Check the breaker first. An SKS wall oven runs on a two-pole breaker, and one pole can trip alone.
A convection fan should make a soft whir. A buzz or a scrape means the blade is loose or the motor bearing is worn. There is also a cooling fan that runs after the oven is off. That is normal, and it can run for a long time after a hot roast. A cooling fan that never runs is a real fault. The oven will shut down to save its boards.
A frozen touch screen is often fixed with a breaker reset. Leave it off for a full minute. If the screen stays dark with the breaker on, the display board or its cable has failed. If the camera view is cloudy, clean the lens cover first. If the app cannot see the oven, check your home Wi-Fi before blaming the oven.
