Samsung ovens we repair
This page covers two things. One is the built-in Samsung wall oven, single or double. The other is the oven cavity in a Samsung range. Samsung also sells a combination wall oven. A convection microwave sits in its upper half, with a full Samsung oven under it. Many models have Flex Duo. You slide in a Smart Divider and one big oven turns into two small ones. Each half has its own heat setting and timer. Some wall ovens have Steam Cook, which uses a small water tray to add moisture.
An oven that will not heat
In an electric oven, the bake element sits under the floor or at the bottom. The broil element is at the top. Either one can burn out. Look for a blister or a break in the element. If the element looks fine, we test the heat sensor. That sensor is a thin metal rod on the rear wall of the Samsung cavity. When it reads wrong, the oven stops early or never gets hot. In a gas oven, the igniter is the usual fault. It should glow bright and light the gas in about a minute. A weak igniter glows dull orange and the burner never lights.
Codes Samsung ovens show
- A door message means the oven does not see the door shut. The plunger switch may be stuck.
- A dC or dE code on a Flex Duo model means the divider is not pushed in all the way.
- C-10 points at the heat sensor reading.
- C-24 means the oven is getting hotter than it should.
- tESt means the oven is in store demo mode. It lights up but will not heat.
Samsung says most codes clear with a power reset. Turn the breaker off for a minute. If the code comes back, a part has failed and needs testing.
Uneven baking and slow preheat
Cakes that burn on one side point at the convection fan. If the fan motor has stopped, heat pools at the back. A slow preheat often means one element is dead. The oven still gets hot on the other one, but it takes twice as long. A worn door gasket leaks heat too. Run your hand near the door edge while it bakes. If you feel a stream of hot air, the seal needs to be changed.
Door locked after self clean
Self clean runs very hot. That heat is hard on the door lock motor and the boards behind the panel. If the door stays locked after the oven cools, do not force it. Cut the power for a few minutes and try again. If it stays locked, we free the latch and test the lock motor. A blown thermal fuse after self clean will leave the whole oven dead.

Repair or replace a Samsung oven
Elements, igniters, sensors, fans and gaskets are all fair repairs. A wall oven is cut into your cabinets, so fixing it avoids a lot of carpentry. We talk about replacing when the main board and the touch panel both fail on an older unit. Even then, it is your call. We serve homes across Northern Virginia, shown on our Virginia page. Samsung oven calls also come from D.C. and Chicago, and Houston and Los Angeles oven owners are on our routes. For surface burner faults see Samsung range repair or Samsung cooktop repair. Our Samsung repair overview and general oven repair pages have more. If your Flex Duo oven acts up, pull the divider out and try the oven as one space. That single test tells us a lot before we arrive.
