Maytag wall ovens come in 27 inch and 30 inch widths. The choices are one oven, two stacked ovens or a combo that has a microwave up top.
Most have True Convection. That means a fan at the back with a third element next to it. Some newer ones call it the EvenAir True Convection System. Many have No Preheat Air Fry and come with a basket. Power Preheat is there to cut the wait before you cook.
The oven in a Maytag gas or electric range works the same way as a wall oven. We repair both.
Three elements do the heating. Bake, broil and convection. When one opens, the oven still works in some modes. That confuses people.
We test each element with a meter at the back of the oven.
Maytag gas ranges light the oven with a glow igniter. It sits by the burner under the floor. As it ages, it draws less current. The gas valve needs that current to open. So an old igniter glows orange and the gas never comes. Preheat takes forever or never ends. We measure the draw and replace the igniter if it is low.
The oven sensor is a thin rod at the top rear. If its reading drifts, the oven runs hot or cold. We check it against a chart. We also bake test with our own probe.
A door gasket that is flat or torn leaks heat. A hinge that is sprung leaves a gap. Both make the oven cycle more and bake unevenly. Air fry needs strong air flow. Weak results often mean a slow convection fan.
High heat cleaning is hard on parts. We get many calls the day after.
The door will not open. The lock motor has stuck, or its switch has. The oven is dead. A thermal fuse has blown. The display is dim or blank. The control board took too much heat. Each of these can be fixed. We free the door first so you can get your racks out.
Tell us the model and what the oven does. We send a tech, often on the day you call. We work 6 AM to 9 PM, and that includes weekends. The fee to track down the fault is $79 at a house. Approve the repair and that $79 is waived. You hear the fixed price before any part goes in. Labor is in that price. We run a background check on each oven tech, and all hold a license and insurance. A 30-day repair warranty covers the job. We are an independent service, not part of Maytag.
