LG washers tell you a lot. These codes come from LG's own list.
For OE, LG points to two things first. A kinked drain hose and a clogged drain pump filter. The filter hides behind a small flap low on the front panel. Coins, hair ties and socks end up there.
If the filter is clean and the hose is straight, the pump is next. A pump can hum with a jammed impeller or go silent. We also check for heavy suds. Too much soap slows the drain and trips the code.
A UE code with a single heavy item is normal. Add a few towels and try again. A UE code on every load is not normal. Worn shock absorbers or springs let the tub swing too far.
An LE code points at the drive. The Direct Drive system has a stator, a rotor and a hall sensor that reads position. A failed sensor or a loose rotor bolt can stop the drum. Overloading and running back to back loads can also trigger LE. LG notes that coins caught in the tub can do it too.
The door gasket is the first place we look. A small tear at the bottom lets water drip with each fill. Hair and grit in the fold wear it down.
Leaks from under the machine have other causes. The drain pump housing, a hose clamp or the soap drawer can all leak. We run a short cycle with the panels off to see it.
IE means a slow fill. Check that both taps are open. The inlet screens can clog with grit. If those are fine, the inlet valve has failed.
A dE code means the lock did not engage. The door lock on a front loader has a small switch inside. On a top loader, the lid lock does the same job. We test it and replace it if it does not click.
LG front loaders use TurboWash 360 jets and AI DD, which picks wash motions for the load. Top loaders come with or without an agitator. The WashTower stacks a washer and dryer in one frame. The WashCombo washes and dries in one drum. We work on all of them.
Clean the pump filter once a month. Do not overfill the soap cup. Level the feet so the washer does not walk. Leave the door open after the last load to dry the gasket.
