Start here, because it is the top LG dryer call. LG builds a duct check into its vented dryers. It is called Flow Sense.
A d80 code means the duct is about 80 percent blocked. A d90 or d95 code means it is worse. LG says not to run the dryer with a badly blocked exhaust until the duct is cleaned.
The dryer is not broken when it shows these codes. The vent in the wall is. Still, a blocked duct hurts the dryer over time. Heat backs up. The thermal fuse blows. Then you have no heat at all. We check the duct, the hose behind the unit and the flap outside.
When the drum turns and the air is cold, we test these parts.
Gas models light a burner with an igniter. The igniter glows, then a valve opens. A cracked igniter will not glow. Weak valve coils let the flame start and then die. A flame sensor can fail as well. We watch the burner through a full cycle to see which part drops out.
LG also makes ventless dryers. Some WashTower units use a Dual Inverter HeatPump dryer. These reuse their air in a closed loop and need no duct.
They fail in other ways. Lint builds on the inner coil. The water they pull from clothes must drain away. A blocked drain path or dirty filter makes dry times stretch. There is no duct to blame, so the fix is inside the machine.
Noise comes from the parts that hold the drum. Rollers wear flat and thump. The idler pulley squeals. A belt that snaps leaves the motor running with a still drum. We open the cabinet and replace worn parts as a set. It saves a second trip later.
Damp clothes at the end of a sensor cycle can be a sensor issue. LG Sensor Dry feels for moisture with metal bars inside the drum. Film from dryer sheets coats them. A wipe with rubbing alcohol often helps.
Clean the lint filter every load. If water beads on the screen, scrub it with dish soap. Slide the dryer forward and look for a crushed hose. Go outside and see that the vent flap opens. On a steam model, check the water line to the dryer.
