Frigidaire's own support pages list a few things to check on a dryer that runs cold. We agree with all of them.
If all five check out and the clothes are still damp, a part has failed.
The thermal fuse is a small safety part on the exhaust path. Too much heat in the Frigidaire cabinet blows it, and it does not reset. The cause is nearly always poor airflow. So we replace the fuse and clear the vent on the same visit. If we skip the vent, the new fuse will blow again.
The heating element is a coil of wire in a metal box. It can break with age. We test it with a meter. The high-limit thermostat and the cycling thermostat sit near it and can fail open too.
A gas dryer lights its burner with a glow igniter. If the igniter is cracked, it never glows and no gas flows. If it glows and then goes dark with no flame, the gas valve coils are weak. That fault likes to show up mid cycle. The first ten minutes are hot and the rest are cold. A flame sensor next to the burner can also fail.
When the motor hums and the drum sits still, the belt has snapped. You can often spin the drum by hand with no drag at all. A new belt and a check of the idler pulley is a common one-trip fix.
A squeal that fades as the dryer warms up is a dry idler pulley or motor bearing. A steady thump each turn is a flat spot on a drum roller. A scraping sound from the front means the drum glides have worn through. Let these go too long and the drum rubs metal and ruins clothes.
If nothing happens when you press start, we check three parts: the door switch, the start button and the thermal fuse. On some models a blown fuse stops the motor as well as the heat. A dryer that quits after a few minutes may have a motor that is cutting out from heat.
On auto dry cycles, two metal sensor bars inside the drum feel for damp cloth. Dryer sheet film coats them. The dryer then thinks the load is dry and stops early. Wiping the bars with rubbing alcohol often cures it.
Frigidaire's Laundry Center stacks a dryer on top of a washer in one frame. The dryer parts are the same kind as in a single unit. Reaching them is harder, since the dryer is up high and tied to the washer below. The vent run behind a closet unit is often long and bent, which makes airflow faults more likely.
