Most owners notice one of these first. Preheat takes much longer than it used to. Cookies brown on one side of the tray. The oven says 350 but a roast takes an extra hour. The fan runs on and on after you turn it off. Or the Dacor door stays latched once self-clean is done. Each one points to a short list of parts.
Current Dacor wall ovens measure 30 inches across. Dacor offers single, double and combination versions. All of them use what Dacor calls Four-Part Pure Convection to move hot air evenly. The Contemporary models also steam-bake and steam-roast. The control is a 7 inch glass touch panel that tilts out on its own. They link to the SmartThings app over Wi-Fi.
The combination oven stacks a speed oven over a full oven. The speed oven uses microwave power and convection together. Dacor dual fuel ranges have an electric oven with Steam-Assist under the gas burners. Older Dacor ovens, from before Samsung bought the brand in 2016, use simpler controls. We service those as well.
An electric oven makes heat with a bake element and a broil element. When one burns out, the other tries to do both jobs. Preheat drags and the top or bottom of the food burns. The fix is a new element.
A thin probe on the rear wall is the Dacor oven's temperature sensor. A false reading from it puts the heat far above or below your setting. We test it with a meter in a few minutes. For uneven baking, we look at the convection fan. If the motor has stopped or the blade is loose, hot air sits still and one side cooks faster.
A worn door gasket or a bent hinge lets heat pour out the front. You can often feel it with your hand near the top of the door.
Hard water is the root of most steam trouble. Using filtered water slows the scale down.
The tilting touch panel has a small motor and a ribbon cable. If the panel sticks shut or the screen goes dark, one of those is the likely cause. After a self-clean cycle, a motor pulls the door latch back. When that motor or its switch fails, the door stays shut even when the oven is cold.
The control boards sit close to the oven heat. A cooling fan protects them. If the cooling fan dies, the boards overheat and the oven shuts off mid bake. We replace the fan before it takes a board with it.
If the app cannot find the oven, try the panel first. If it bakes fine from the panel, the oven is fine. The trouble is the Wi-Fi link.
A wall oven runs on a double breaker. If one side trips, the lights and screen still work but nothing heats. Flip the breaker fully off and back on. Make sure the steam tank is full and pushed all the way in. Then bake at 350 and read a thermometer hung from the center rack.
A Dacor oven diagnostic at home is $79. Approve the repair and nobody bills you for it. The full price reaches you in writing first, labor and parts together. Same-day visits are usual. Techs are on the road by 6 AM, and the last Dacor call ends at 9 PM, weekends too. A+ is independent, and our licensed, insured techs pass a background check. The job is backed by a warranty.
