SKS sells one dishwasher family, called PowerSteam. It comes in stainless steel or as a panel-ready unit that hides behind a cabinet door. The wash system is QuadWash Pro. It uses high-pressure jets and tiny bubbles to break down stuck food. Steam softens baked-on mess. Dynamic Heat Dry handles the drying, and SKS says a full wash and dry can run in one hour. The machine is very quiet. A beam of light on the floor tells you where the cycle stands. When that beam goes out early, something stopped the wash.
Standing water is our most common SKS dishwasher call. The filter is the first stop. It sits in the floor of the tub under the lower rack. Lift it out and rinse off the film. Then trace the SKS drain hose below the sink and look for a sharp bend. If the sink has a disposal, run it to clear the shared drain. When those are clear and the SKS tub still holds water, its drain pump is failing. Broken glass is a common pump killer. We pull the pump, clear the housing and fit a new one if the motor is weak.
A strong wash needs full water pressure at the arms. Dirty cups up top with clean plates below means the SKS upper feed may be blocked. Pull the spray arms and hold them to the light. Seeds and paper labels plug the jets. A slow fill is the next cause. The water inlet valve has a fine screen that clogs with grit. A tired wash motor will also leave a gritty film. We check each in turn.
PowerSteam uses real steam in the wash and again in the dry. If glasses come out spotted or wet, the steam step may not be running. The heater and its sensor are the parts to test. Low rinse aid makes drying worse on any machine. Fill that first. Plastic items always hold more water than glass, and that is normal.
A drip at the bottom of the door points at the gasket or at too much soap. On a panel-ready unit, the wood panel adds weight to the door. If the panel was hung off line, the door may not seal flat. We check the hinge tension and the panel fit. A leak under the machine can come from a hose clamp or the pump seal. We slide the unit out to see it, and we protect your floor while we do.
