Frigidaire wine cooler sizes
Frigidaire has sold wine coolers in many sizes. The small ones hold 18, 24 or 34 bottles in one zone. The 38 bottle and 45 bottle models have two zones, which lets red and white bottles rest at separate settings. Frigidaire Gallery has offered a 52 bottle unit. All have a glass door and pull-out racks.
These are value-priced coolers. That is good news for parts cost. It also means we are honest about which repairs are worth the money, as you will see below.
The cooler is warm
A wine cooler is set much warmer than a fridge, so it has less work to do. When it cannot hold even that, something basic has failed. We go in this order.
- Airflow around the unit. A cooler jammed into a tight nook cannot shed heat.
- The condenser fan and coil. Dust is the most common cause of warm wine.
- The inside fan. With no air moving, the top bottles warm up first.
- The sensor. A Frigidaire wine cooler that runs warm may have a bad temperature sensor.
- The control board. A relay on it may not be sending power to the compressor.
- The compressor start relay. You hear a click and then nothing.
Zone trouble on two zone models
Two zone coolers split the cabinet with a divider. Each side has its own display and sensor, and a fan or a small damper shares the cold between them. When one zone is right and one is wrong, the fault is in the wrong zone's sensor or fan. When both drift the same way, look to the shared parts.
A common mix-up is loading. If bottles block the vent on the divider, the lower zone cannot get cold air. Pull the racks, clear the vent and wait a day before you judge it.
Water, frost and fogged glass
A little water on the back wall is normal. It should run to a small drain and dry up in a tray by the compressor. If that drain clogs, water pools on the floor of the cooler and then on yours. We flush the drain and check the tray.
Frost across the rear wall of a Frigidaire cooler means damp air slips past the door seal. Fog on the outside of the glass is from a humid room. Fog trapped between the panes means the glass unit has lost its seal. Only a new Frigidaire door clears that.
Rattles, hums and lights
Wine coolers sit in quiet rooms, so small sounds stand out. A rattle is often a bottle touching the back wall or a loose rack. A hum that comes and goes is the compressor, and a louder one is a fan bearing. If the display is blank but the cooler runs, the display board or its cable is bad. If the lights flicker, the LED strip or the door switch is the likely part.
What repair costs next to a new cooler
The $79 diagnostic applies to a wine cooler in a home, and you do not pay it if we do the repair. You approve one set price that counts the parts and the labor. A fan, a sensor, a relay, a gasket or a drain fix is a sound repair. A leak in the sealed system on a small Frigidaire cooler usually is not. That repair can cost more than a new Frigidaire cooler. You will hear that at the visit, and you only owe the diagnostic.
We come same-day on most calls and work from 6 AM, with the last wine cooler visit near 9 PM, daily. The same family has owned A+ from the start, and the company is independent. Licensed, insured techs do the work, and all have had a background check. Wine cooler repairs have a 30-day repair warranty. Booking is online.
