A DishDrawer slides out of the cabinet like a deep kitchen drawer. The wash tub, spray arm, filter and motor all ride inside that drawer. A lid drops onto the tub to seal it once the drawer shuts. The double model stacks two of these, and each one runs alone. Fisher and Paykel also sells drop door dishwashers with a normal hinged front. Both types are on the brand's US site today.
That moving tub changes how the machine wears. The fill hose, drain hose and wiring all bend each time you open it. They are carried in a flexible link at the back. When a DishDrawer finds a fault, it stops and beeps. Newer models show an F code or an A code. Fisher and Paykel lists F1 as a flood alert or too much foam. Its advice is to run a cycle with no soap. If that clears it, cut your detergent back to a teaspoon. Water on the floor is a different story. Turn off the power and the water and call.

Standing water is the call we get most on this brand. Start with the filter. It lifts out of the tub floor and rinses clean at the sink. If water still sits there, the drain side is blocked or the pump is jammed. We often pull out a shard of glass or an olive pit. The drain hose can also kink where it loops under the sink.
Water on the drawer face usually traces to the lid seal. Grease builds on it, and then it cannot seal flat. A dish or pan handle that sticks up past the rim can hold the lid open too. Too much soap makes foam that pushes past the seal. We clean and check the seal before we price a new one.
Rinse the filter. Check that nothing blocks the drawer from closing all the way. Spin the spray arm by hand to be sure it turns. Look under the sink for a kinked hose. After that, cut power at the breaker for sixty seconds and run one more cycle. Please leave the drawer on its rails. Pulling it off can tear the hoses in the link.
