DCS is known for grills and pro-style ranges. It is not a dishwasher maker. Fisher and Paykel bought DCS in 2004, and that company builds the DishDrawer. So a DCS kitchen from those years often has a DishDrawer next to the range. Some have one drawer. Others have two stacked drawers that run on their own. Today DCS sells outdoor products, and no dishwasher is in its line. We still fix the drawers that are out there. Our DCS repair page explains the brand split.
A normal dishwasher has a door that drops down. A drawer unit slides out like a deep kitchen drawer. The tub moves with it. A lid comes down on the tub to seal it when a wash starts. The hoses and wires flex every time you open it. Each drawer has its own small motor, filter and spray arm. That layout is handy, and it also sets the list of things that wear out.
If the drawer shows a flood fault, act fast. Turn off the water tap that feeds the dishwasher. It is often under the sink. Do not keep pressing start. Water in the base pan has to be found and dried first. Look for a plate or pan handle that stuck up too high. Check that the drain hose under the sink is not bent flat. Then call us. We pull the unit, find the leak and dry the pan so the fault clears for good.
Lift out the spray arm and the filter plate in the bottom of the tub. Rinse the filter under the tap. Look in the sump for glass, fruit labels or bone chips. If a new garbage disposal went in, check that its drain plug was knocked out. Run a short rinse after that. If water still sits, the fault is past what you can reach.
A tech comes to your home for a $79 diagnostic. He runs the drawer through a test cycle and reads any stored faults. Then you hear a fixed price that covers the part and the labor. Approve it and we waive the $79. Nothing starts until you agree. The tech holds a license and insurance and cleared a background check. His work is backed by a warranty. We are an independent shop, so we say plainly when a repair is not worth it.
A seal, an inlet valve or a drain fix is a small job. Those make sense on almost any drawer. A failed control board or motor on a very old unit is a closer call. A drawer dishwasher fits a special cabinet opening. A standard dishwasher may not slide into that space without cabinet work. We weigh that for you on the spot.
