BlueStar sells wall ovens in gas and in electric. Both are built into the cabinet wall.
The gas wall oven has French doors. It bakes with a gas burner and broils with an infrared burner in the roof. The 30 inch electric wall oven comes as a single or a double. You can get it with French doors or a drop-down door. BlueStar lists a 2,500 watt bake element and a 5,000 watt infrared broiler. There is also an 1,800 watt heat assist element at the back. The oven is wide enough for a full-size commercial sheet pan.

Gas wall ovens light by way of a hot surface igniter. Picture a small bar that glows orange. When it is hot enough, the gas valve opens and the burner lights.
Igniters wear out. A tired one glows but never gets hot enough. The valve stays shut. You may smell a little gas at first and then nothing. We test how much current the igniter pulls. A low reading means a new igniter.
If the igniter is strong and there is still no flame, we test the valve. We also check that the gas shutoff behind the oven is open.
Electric models have three heat sources. Any one can fail alone.
We test each one with a meter. We also test the temperature sensor. A sensor that reads wrong makes the oven run too hot or too cool. Food burns on top or stays raw in the middle. A blown thermal fuse can shut all heat off at once. That often happens after a cooling fan fails.
Both fuel types use infrared for broiling. On gas, the burner face should glow evenly. Dark patches mean clogged or cracked ceramic. No glow at all sends us to the broil igniter and valve.
On electric, the broiler is a high-watt element. It either works or it does not. If it is dead, we check the element and then the relay that powers it.
The two doors are linked. Open the left and the right swings with it. A linkage ties the pair together. When it slips or wears, one door lags or will not close flush.
A door that stays open a crack leaks heat. The oven runs long and the knobs get hot. We reset the linkage, check the hinges and look at the door gasket. Drop-down doors have their own issue. Worn hinges let the door sag or slam.
