BlueStar is known for ranges, but it also sells a dishwasher. It is a 24 inch built-in with a stainless steel tub. The controls sit on the top edge of the door. It has three racks that pull all the way out. The top one is a full-size cutlery rack you can lift out.
The maker lists eight wash cycles and a 45 decibel sound rating. There is a Sanitize option and an Extra Dry option. The door takes a custom panel, so it can match your range color. None of that changes how we repair it. Inside, it has the same main parts as other dishwashers.
Standing water is the top reason people call us. A small pump pushes dirty water out through the drain hose. Glass chips, seeds and labels can jam that pump. The filter under the lower rack can also clog with grease.
We pull the filter and check the pump by hand. Then we follow the hose to the sink drain. A kinked hose or a clogged disposal inlet stops water just as well. If the pump motor hums but will not turn, it gets replaced.
This model dries with a fan, not just heat. When the fan motor fails, plastics stay wet and glasses spot. Try the Extra Dry option first. BlueStar says it adds 30 minutes for stubborn plastics. If that does not help, we test the fan and its wiring.
Grit on glasses is a wash problem. The spray arms have small holes that plug with food bits. The machine also uses a turbidity sensor. That sensor reads how dirty the water is. A coated sensor can cut a cycle short. We clean the arms, check the sensor and test the wash pump.
BlueStar builds in overflow protection and a tray under the machine. When water lands in that tray, the dishwasher stops filling. That is good for your floor. It also means a small drip can shut the whole machine down.
So a dead dishwasher is not always an electrical fault. We look in the base for water first. Then we find the source. We often find a split gasket on the door, a clamp that backed off a hose, or a sump seal with a crack. Too much soap can also foam over the door lip.
Ring us in the morning and a visit that day is likely. The tech runs a test cycle and opens the base if needed. You get a flat price for the job before a tool comes out. The home diagnostic is $79. We waive it when you go ahead with the repair.
