Expert Dryer Repair in Wilmette, IL
Does it take two cycles to dry a load of towels? Maybe the drum won't turn, or the dryer stops halfway. We fix gas and electric dryers across Wilmette. Same-day visits are often open. Your repair is backed by our warranty.
What slows a dryer down
Lint is the biggest enemy of any dryer. It builds up in the trap housing and along the vent pipe. A clogged vent traps heat and trips the thermal fuse, a safety part that shuts off heat. Long vent runs in older Wilmette homes make the problem worse. Belts stretch and snap, so the drum stops turning. Gas dryers lose igniters and the valve coils that open the gas flow. Electric dryers burn out heating elements, the coils that make the heat.
Our dryer visit
We run a cycle and check airflow at the outside vent. Then we test the fuse, the element or igniter and the motor. We look for lint in the cabinet, since it can be a fire risk. Belts, fuses, igniters and rollers are good repairs. A rusted drum on an old dryer may not be worth fixing. A firm price comes before any work.
Commuter days near the Linden terminal
Linden station on Linden Avenue is the northern end of the CTA Purple Line. The first simple station opened there on April 2, 1912. A new one was built nearby between 1991 and 1993. For people in Wilmette who commute, laundry often waits for evenings and weekends. A dryer that quits on a Sunday night throws off the whole week. We aim to get it running before the next workday.
