Fixing a Roselle dryer that stopped heating
When a Roselle dryer stops heating, the fix depends on what fuels it. Electric models lose heat when the heating element burns through or the thermal fuse blows. Gas models lose it when the igniter weakens or the gas valve coils fail, so the burner never lights. We also see dryers that will not start, usually a door switch, and loads that take two runs to dry, which is lint in the vent. Roselle grew 245 percent between 1960 and 1970, and much of the housing is postwar single-family construction with laundry areas never designed for today's larger machines. Our Glendale Heights shop is close by, with same-day appointments available.
The diagnostic and what follows
The residential diagnostic is $79. If we do the repair, that charge comes off. We quote a fixed price before starting, and it covers gas and electric dryers as well as ventless and compact models, from all major brands. Every repair is backed by our repair warranty. We take calls Monday to Sunday from 6am to 9pm at (312) 600-6540.

Basement dryers in Roselle's postwar houses
A postwar Roselle house often has its laundry in the basement. The dryer vent then climbs to the rim of the foundation and pokes out near the ground. That run has bends, and lint packs into each one. Snow and leaves can also block the flap outside. The dryer runs long, dries slow, and then a safety fuse blows and it stops heating. We check the vent path first, and then the dryer.
Gas and electric dryers, and the compact kind too, all get fixed on site.
When your dryer breaks down, it can be a real pain. Not only do you have to deal with wet clothes, but you also have to find a way to get your clothes dry in a hurry. Fortunately, there's no need to worry. We repair all dryer brands and models, and our technicians are licensed, insured, and factory-trained. We understand that a broken dryer is a real inconvenience, which is why we offer same-day service in most cases. If your dryer has been acting up, A+ Appliance Repair and Maintenance can help.
Dryer calls come in four kinds. Squealing, thumping or grinding from a worn drum bearing, roller or belt. A dryer that will not turn on, often a thermal fuse or door switch once the breaker is ruled out. A drum that spins but never heats, which is a heating element, igniter or thermostat. A dryer that heats but takes two cycles to dry, which is almost always airflow: a clogged lint duct or vent. We repair gas, electric, ventless condenser and heat pump, and compact stackable dryers across all major brands. Repairs start from $199, and the $79 diagnostic is waived when we do the repair.
